Soft and fluffy savory pancakes made with dalia, curd, and vegetables. These are similar to chillas but thicker, giving a hearty, satisfying feel. Ideal for breakfast or an evening snack with chutney.

Flavor Notes

Nutty dalia blends with tangy curd, crunchy onions, and mild spices to make savory pancakes that are soft inside and crisp at the edges.

Ingredients (serves 1):

• ¼ cup dalia (ground slightly)

• 2 tbsp curd

• 1 tbsp onion (chopped)

• 1 tbsp carrot (grated)

• 1 green chili (chopped)

• Salt to taste

• Oil for cooking

Method:

1. Grind dalia coarsely. Mix with curd, salt, and little water to make batter.

2. Rest 10 minutes. Add onion, carrot, chili.

3. Heat pan, pour batter like pancakes.

4. Cook on medium flame till golden both sides.

5. Serve hot with chutney.

Optional Twist

Add grated paneer or cheese in the batter for a richer taste.

Fun Fact : In many Indian homes, dalia pancakes are the go-to “hiding spot” for veggies, helping kids eat spinach, carrots, and beans without complaint!
